Modern Western massage (devised in the 1800's) is based on a tailored sequence of light, medium or firm movements. Research shows that massage has a therapeutic effect on the whole body, including the reduction of the physical symptoms of stress.

These massages can be done easily with or without oils, and can be 15–30 minute sessions.
